HeyPaw ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the HeyPaw mobile application ("App").
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
The HeyPaw app is offline-first. The following data is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:
- Pet profiles (name, species, breed, date of birth, weight, photos)
- Health events (vet visits, medications, vaccinations, notes)
- Vet contact information
- App preferences and settings
AI Vet Check Feature
When you use the AI Vet Check feature, the following information is sent to our secure backend service:
- The photo you choose to share (optional)
- The symptom description you type
- The species of your pet (e.g., dog or cat)
This data is processed by Anthropic's Claude AI model via our Cloudflare Worker proxy and is not stored after the response is returned. We do not retain AI Vet query data.
Subscription Information
If you purchase a HeyPaw Pro subscription, payment processing is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat may collect:
- An anonymous user identifier
- Subscription status and transaction history
- Device type and operating system version
We do not receive or store your payment card details. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for details.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above solely to:
- Provide the AI Vet Check feature
- Verify your subscription status
- Improve the App's AI responses (aggregated, anonymized only)
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Data Storage & Security
All pet health data is stored locally on your device using encrypted storage provided by your operating system. We do not operate a cloud database containing your personal pet records.
AI Vet queries are transmitted over HTTPS to our Cloudflare Worker and are not logged or retained.
4. Children's Privacy
HeyPaw is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
5. Your Rights
Because your pet data is stored only on your device, you have full control over it at all times. You can delete all app data by uninstalling the App. For any subscription-related data held by RevenueCat, you may contact us to request deletion.
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have rights under GDPR including access, correction, deletion, and data portability. Contact us at the address below to exercise these rights.
